I would be fine now if you’d have
taken an arm from me,
there’s no need for one that would never
hold or defend you again
Â
how much better it would have been
if you’d have taken a leg,
it’s not like they’ll ever walk beside you
or retrace footsteps across a dead world
Â
what a world it would be if you’d
have ripped out my eyes or off my ears,
then I’d be grateful to damn the senses
that are damned to be without
Â
breath for lacking lungs,
peace in a roiling stomach,
thoughts stumbling across fissures
in a hollow brain cracking
without connection from
the part I valued most,
Â
my heart,
the only thing you deemed worth taking
Â
breaking the only lingering thing that made you,
You
Â
and me,
Â
Me.
